GRETCHEN ON THE ISSUES
AFFORDABILITY
HEALTHCARE
ENVIRONMENT & CLEAN ENERGY
Lowering costs for Virginia's families in Fairfax and across the Commonwealth is a top priority. Gretchen believes that through access to affordable housing, childcare, electricity, and healthcare, we can enhance the quality of life for all Virginians. Affordability doesn't stop there - it means increasing our minimum wage, expanding job opportunities and workforce development programs, and ensuring that those who want to live, work, and play in Fairfax can.
EDUCATION
DEMOCRACY
As a mom of three, Gretchen knows that our public schools are at the center of our communities. She will work tirelessly to ensure our schools receive the funding they need to support a quality education for all students, provide special programming, expand workforce opportunities, and increase teacher pay. As a recipient of the 2025 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate distinction, Gretchen will fight to ensure our schools are safe and protected for those learning and working.
CIVIL LIBERTIES
On the docket for this year's General Assembly session are core civil liberties - the right to marriage equality, the right to reproductive choice, and the restoration of voting rights. Gretchen supports all of these 100% and will vote to pass them if elected to the House of Delegates.
All Virginians deserve access to affordable healthcare. With cuts from the federal government, Gretchen believes it is the responsibility of our elected state officials to ensure that healthcare is both accessible and affordable for all. She will fight to ensure that the services covered are what people need - from drug costs and annual exams to specialty treatment and mental health services.
Gretchen is committed to ensuring a sustainable future for Virginia's environment and energy sources. She believes that clean, renewable energy is essential for combating climate change, creating good-paying jobs, and strengthening our economy. Gretchen will fight to hold utility companies accountable and ensure that Virginians can afford their electrical bills as we transition to cleaner energy sources. She supports investing in Virginia's renewable energy potential - from offshore wind to solar installations - and protecting our natural resources, including our waterways and green spaces, for future generations.
The stakes to preserve and protect our democracy have never been higher - Gretchen is ready to take this fight from museums to Richmond. Through her work in the Fairfax community and helping to elect Democratic leaders over the last three decades, she understands the importance of transparent and open government. Gretchen will implement a combination of town halls, office hours, mailers, and more to ensure you have the information and access you need to hold her accountable.
